February
20 - March 2,
2013
The
fishing has been very tough the last couple of weeks. The
winds switch from North to South and then from South to
North so much, its like a washing machine for the water. The
water has been muddy just about anywhere you fish. Once you
thrown in the thunderstorms that have associated these
fronts and temperatures that range from 33-77 degrees, its
just been terrible. Once we can get some consistent weather,
the fishing will be back on track.

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with
Cecil, his son Joseph and their friend Don. Conditions were
very tough with winds blowing 20-25mph sustained all day
under cloudy skies. The water was chocolate milk everywhere
we fished. The group managed to catch a few drum, several
redfish and a 10lb Bluecat. We are looking forward to
getting through February as the fishing will greatly
improve.

Today I had
a morning trip with John Schaeffer and his friend Corey and
an afternoon trip with Robert Florence his dad David and his
son Robert Jr. The numbers were not that great but it was
some of the best trout I`ve seen in a while. We had three 4
pounders, one at 4.5 and a few 15 to 18 inch that were small
ones. All fish caught on gulps and bass assassin sea shads
using Falcon rods and Volt reels.

James Keene
and his wife Ellen from Georgia fished with me today. We put
lots of trout in the boat but the keepers were not as
plentiful as they have been. We also had a few reds to top
off the day. All fish caught on beetles and gulps under a
cork using Falcon rods and Volt reels.

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with
Chris and Frank who were visiting New Orleans from Colorado.
The team managed a good mess of fish today catching a mess
of redfish and some very nice speckled trout including a
4lb'er topped off with a couple of Bass. The fish were
caught using Berkley Gulp Shrimp (natural) about 18' under a
cork.
Captain Dave also had the John Krupnic
party.

Today I had the pleasure of
fishing the John Klassen party visiting from Canada. They
are in town for Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday. The conditions
today was pretty much a repeat of yesterday. Muddy water and
strong winds made for tough fishing. The group managed to
boat a nice mess of fish consisting of redfish, flounder,
drum, and sheepshead with the biggest being an 18lb Black
Drum. The fish was no match however for the Falcon 2500 Volt
reel and Falcon Coastal rod. Enjoy the game on Sunday
everyone!
