December 30, 2006 - Once again I am playing catch up with these reports. With the rut going on at this time I am trying to spend as much time as I can in the woods. Here are a few trips from the end of last week.  Capt. Mike had the Hackdarth`s on Wednesday, Karen and Wilson Liptrap on Thursday and I had The Crutchfield`s  Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday the only thing we caught was redfish, but Thursday with a little warmer weather the trout turned on. 25 reds Wednesday, 53 trout Thursday between both boats. Beetle's with a shrimp chaser for the reds and glow beetle's under a cork for the trout.

December 28 - 29, 2006 - Bob Crutchfield and his son joined me the last 2 days. The trout bite was nowhere to be found the first day, but we did manage 18 or 20 reds. Here's bob with one of the bronze beauties we caught yesterday. Beetle's with a shrimp chaser was the ticket yesterday. Conditions: Near freezing temps, ok water clarity, sunny skies.

Today was day 2 with this party. We hit the trout early, keeping over 25, then the trout just turned off. The wind began to blow as we started trolling the banks in search of some reds. Ended the day with a really nice box of fish. Fun group to fish.

December 21 - 27, 2006 - The Gusich party and the Morgan party all fished with Capt. Kevin and I over the weekend . Here are a few pictures of their catches. With hunting season in full swing I am trying to get caught up on some of these reports. Saturday was very tough fishing after the passage of a cold front the night before. After a couple hours of bouncing from spot to spot, we ended up right where we started. The bite came at about 11am after the wind decided to lay down, and temps warmed up a bit. The Gusich party ended the day catching about 50 fish total keeping 35, and the Morgan party caught 45 or so keeping 28. Good results for a bad weather day.

December 8 -19, 2006 - I was deer hunting in Mississippi this past weekend. The fishing here is much better than the hunting has been there. Here are a couple of reports from Friday and Monday. Buck and Barry Plaisance had a nice mess of reds and trout on Friday and the Young family had a good catch of trout on Monday. Conditions: very foggy, light winds. Bait: trout, beetles under a cork. Reds, beetles on the bottom.

December 6 -7, 2006 - Thursday, December 7, Pearl Harbor Day. Thanks to all Veterans. Today Capt. Joe and I fished the Stewart Construction party. It was cold and windy but the first four hours or so produced some awesome fishing. We had trout in the 3lb range and many more 16 to 18 inches. Being there just before the front turned out to be the reason. About noon time the fish turned off like a light switch. Here are the guys with a 100 trout, 15 reds and a cold day on the water. Bait: glow beetle's under a cork and curly tail grubs on the bottom. This weekend looks like a washout, but the fish should turn on next week. Capt. E.J.

December 2, 2006 - Saturday the Richard Stancliffe family joined me on a very chilly morning. We didn't leave until 7:30 with the idea it would warm up a little and it did around 11am. The wind even gave us a break. 40 very nice trout with half of them between 14 and 18 inches, with the biggest one going to Richard. Bait glow beetle's under a cork. Off to Mississippi to do some hunting, back Tuesday night. Capt. E.J
