Day three on the
bass search. Today my good friend, Capt. Joe Bush and I headed for
one of my favorite bass fishing areas. The fog delayed our arrival
time 10 or 15 minutes but it didn`t slow the bite any. Probably one
of the better trips I`ve had in the last couple of years,
considering the size of the fish . Spinner baits in white/char. once
again was the bait of the day. Working the grass line and holes in
the grass produced over 25 bass by 8 am and believe it or not we
left them bitting to look for a few specks, which we found shortly
after. Here are some awesome pictures of today's catch. Conditions:
as good as it gets. Bait: spinner baits for the bass, black/char
cocahoe`s on a 1/4 oz jig head for the specks.

Day two on the bass search. Different location today and even with
the front Henery Bourgeois and I produced a fine catch of bass, once
again no fish under 14 inches. Conditions: sunny and mild with high
pressure moving in. Bait: all fish once again were caught on spinner
baits. Capt. Joe and I will be out searching for them again
tomorrow. If you would like to book a bass trip the next couple of
weeks will be the time. See you on the water. Capt. E.J.

February 17, 2007 - Another
cold day on the water. I just can`t wait to start sweating and say
goodbye to winter. Capt. Mike fished the Mike Cox group from South
Carolina and I had the Greenberg party from Ohio. Here are a few
pictures from today's catch just keeping enough for dinner. All
fished were caught on curly tail grubs tipped with shrimp.

February 16, 2007 -
Deer hunting season is
over and today was about as tough as it gets to start fishing again.
Capt. Joe and I had the pleasure of fishing some guys from Illinois,
Jacob, Bruce, Ben, Nathan, Gordon, Ed and Jayson. They have been
here since Katrina doing repair work on the north shore. Today was
the coldest day I`ve spent on the water this year and a 40 minute
boat ride didn`t help. The few fish we caught were nice, just
couldn't find any numbers. Bait: grubs and cocahoe`s blk/char, slow
on the bottom. Conditions: COOOOLD, very low and muddy water.
Out again tomorrow, I can't wait.
