March 20 - April 1, 2007 - Just trying to catch up on some recent trips from the past week. 3-20 with the Ralph Dufour group, 3-23 the Bob Vennes group,3-26 Steve Ohl and his wife who just came along for the ride, 3-31 the Anderson Brothers with John catching the largest fish, 4-01 John Laflen and his son with the best red fishing day of the last two weeks. Capt. Mike had the Jeff Efird family Sunday and Monday. Should have some pictures of some of their catch in the next few days. For the past week its been windy with most of the fish being caught on spinner baits. If the tide remains high as its been, the fishing should continue to improve. We are also still catching some nice bass on worms and spinner baits. Most boats are catching between 20-30 per day, with bigger catches coming daily now that we are into the warming trend. Capt. March 19, 2007 - Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with Cliff Crane and his son Cliff. The morning started off with light winds but it wasn't very long before it was up to 15 plus. 21 trout for their effort all caught on glow beetle's under a cork. Capt. Joe had the Sharp's from Alabama, 7 trout, 1 red and a bass, all caught on cocahoe`s on the bottom . Looks like we may have some stable weather the next week or so which may improve the fishing. Out again tomorrow.

March 16 -18, 2007 - Friday I had the Lori Hastings party, 18 trout all caught on glow beetle's under a cork. Saturday Capt. Kevin and I had the Bobby Brown group. His boat had the largest redfish, we had the largest trout and most fish., 20 plus trout and a couple of reds. Windy and very low water gave us very few options, protected and dead end canals. Again, most fish were caught on glow beetle's under a cork. Sunday I had the Derek Maxey party and Capt Kevin had the R. Greenlee group. 20 plus fish between both boats. Out again tomorrow, hopefully with some improving conditions.

 

March 4-14, 2007 - Its been some time since my last report. I have been working on my place in Mississippi, having a small lake built, and doing some fence work. Two trips from the last week, the Jim Labauve party wanted only trout and ended the day with 20 keepers. Yesterday I had Jeremy Brekke with his guest Mark Chamberlin. 19 trout, 3 keeper reds. Its been run and gun the past few week finding a few fish here and there. Conditions: overcast and breezy. Bait: glow beetle under a cork for the trout, blk/char. Cocahoe`s on the bottom for the reds. Busy season rapidly approaching. Check back for future reports.
