September 2006

In August warmer temperatures are in full swing and the bite is not far behind it. Redfish are thick in the ponds and they are very aggressive. And the trout are usually on FIRE!

So give us a call Toll-Free 1-877-689-4120 and Let's Go Fishing! Capt. EJ

October 3, 2006 -

September 29 - 30, 2006 - On Friday I fished the Rowan group. On Saturday Capt. Joe had the Mike Chandler group and I had Dr. Jim Brown And his two sons Andrew and John Paul. The past few days the fishing has been just awesome in Lafitte, especially if you are a trout fisherman. If we don`t have any major weather changes fishing should be great the next few months. Conditions have been perfect the last few days and the fish have been hitting on just about any color that we have thrown. Under a cork or on the bottom, it really doesn't matter. This is the time to get out there
and catch a few. Capt. E.J.

September 25, 2006 - Fished the Albert Heck party on Monday. The front that moved in made a big difference in the bite today. Only one out of five were keepers and not one keeper redfish. 35 trout and 4 nice bass for the final count. Conditions: Clear, WINDY, and cool. Bait: purple/char on the bottom. Sorry I don't have a picture. I took one, but it did not come out on computer thanks to a full memory card.

September 24, 2006 - Sunday I had the pleasure of fishing with Henry Bourgeois, in his boat. It was nice to give mine a break. We didn't leave till 8am but with the help of a little overcast sky, we managed to boat several nice bass, 40 or so trout, and 4 nice reds. Top water was just awesome this morning. The trout were just blowing the bait completely out of the water. Trout, reds and bass side by side, it doesn't get any better then that. Conditions: windy, partly cloudy, clean water. Bait: 6" plastic worms for the bass, top water for the trout. Purple/char cocahoe`s on the bottom for the reds.

September 22 - 23, 2006 - The boys from Alabama fished with me for two days. Dennis, Jerry, Phil and Ron fought the wind Friday and Saturday. We didn't have many options of where to fish, only protected shore lines. Friday the fish had no pressure, only a couple of boats in the area, but Saturday it looked like a zoo. 96 trout, 3 reds, 9 bass and several hundred throwback. Conditions: very windy, clean water. Bait: purple/char cocahoes on the bottom.

September 17, 2006 - Charles Sr. and Charles Jr. had fished with me several months ago. Today they brought along  Mike and Phil. We had a very early start this morning, the fish were still sleeping when we arrived. Today was the best day of the weekend, 10 reds and 85 trout. Keepers were much more prominent today. I almost forgot what it was like to clean 95 fish. Conditions; light winds, overcast, some rain. Bait: purple/char cocahoe`s on the bottom, its been hot as of late.

September 16, 2006 - Capt. Mike had a boat load for Saturday. Ken, Charles, Mike, Rob, and Linda who wanted everyone to know that she had the big fish of the day. 1 red and 56 trout for their total.
My crew for the day Tom, Paul and Debra ended the day with 9 reds and 43 trout. It was a day for the girls with Debra also catching big fish of the day. Conditions: light winds, a little rain , clear water. Bait: Purple/char on the bottom.

September 15, 2006 - My guest for Friday from the Victoria Inn were Jon and Terry. We left the dock just after 6am and headed for an area that I had caught trout the day before. The fish were still there, lots of small ones that is. 26 trout, 8 reds, 2 flounder with one going about 4 pounds. Conditions: light winds and clean water. Bait: purple/char cocahoe`s on the bottom. The message is ready to be sent with the following file or link

September 14, 2006 - Jon and Susan from Park City, Ut. Joined me on Monday. They had come down for the LSU game on Saturday and to view some of the storm damage. No big fish on this day. A few bass, four reds, a couple of trout, some croakers and hardheads. All fish released to fight another day. Anyway, they got to see our beautiful wetlands, at least what's left of them. Conditions: sunny, light winds. Bait; shrimp under a cork, spinner baits, purple/char.

September 5, 2006 -Will Perkins and his wife fished with me on Sunday and Charles, David and Daniel, from Kansas City, Mo, here doing storm repairs fished with me on Monday. Sunday a dozen trout and one red for our effort and on Monday 16 trout and one red. Just a lot of little fish still out there. Sunday we had at least 20 reds that were too short. Hopefully they will grow up for the fall. Conditions: blue bird on both days. Bait glow beetle's or shrimp under a cork.

September 1, 2006 - Today my brother, Barry and I left the dock at 6:15. It didn't take very long to get to the bass hole traveling at 60 plus. Turned out to be a great morning boating 30 or so fish by 9am. Conditions : a blue bird day which usually isn`t good, but today it just didn`t matter. Bait: top water frogs, 6" curly tail worms and spinner baits in 2 feet of water.
